Music: Misc. bluegrass TV/Movie: The Mummy Links o' the Day: Glimmer Train and Pif Thursday--one more workday for the week, and the way I play it, it should only be half a day. Then time to catch up on some sleep this weekend. And some work. And some housework. And maybe a little more sleep. And maybe a movie or two. Oh lordie, am I looking forward to the weekend. I took last night off to spend some face-time with Pretty Maggie. We went out to dinner and then hit Borders. Big night, huh? Well... it _was_ a weekday after all. And I broke down and picked up a copy of The DaVinci Code. I'm trying not to sneak a peek at it until I'm finished with the Jeff Shaara book, but I broke down and read the first chapter. Like Angels and Demons, the chapters are very short. The Glorious Cause is a very fine book. American history comes alive--and all that. It's fun to see Rhode Island mentioned so much. Actually, that's going to be some help with me for my juvie ghost-story. My impression of Rhode Island's involvement in the Revolutionary War pretty much ended at the firing of the Gaspee. (Okay, American History isn't my strong suit. I may now have to check into some of those Revolutionary era biographies that have been floating around.) Anyway, that and Rise To Rebellion are highly recommended. * * * I finished doing up some edits for a Strange Horizons book review. I expect it will be posted within the next couple of weeks. I enjoy working with the Strange Horizons folks. Professionals from beginning to end. I did some reviewing of Sleight of Hand. (Excuse me while I take a moment to enjoy a dinner of chourico and foccaccio w/ tomato. Mmmmmm!) Ah. And while I've in a revising mode, I have some revisions to complete for my story appearing in Men Writing SF As Women. I just got a copy of the cover flat along with the page proofs. Check it out: * * * Sent out a submission to Glimmer Train and checked on the status of poetry submissions at Pif. Consider these the links of the day. The first is a fairly prestigious short fiction market. The latter is a rather literary e-zine site. Enjoy! And now it's time to work on some new fiction. *stretches* Cheers!
