Reading: More Tales of Pirx the Pilot by Stanislaw Lem
Music: Photographs & Memories by Jim Croce
TV/Movie: Lawrence of Arabia
Link o' the Day: Jim Croce, the webpage

It's been too long since I've last visited this webjournal site. Much too long, but it's been busier than ever around the old Casa de Tumble.

Jane Kean's book went to the printer's on Wednesday, The Fall 2003 issue of the SFWA Bulletin goes to the printers today. I've been working double-time on getting the first draft of the Walter Tetley book finished, and have just added Jerry Sohl chapbook to the current Works in Progress. (For those who don't know, Jerry Sohl, who died last year, wrote a lot of episodes for TV shows such as The Twilight Zone , Alfred Hitchcock Presents , and The Outer Limits , as well as a number of short stories. I recently did Mike Jasper's Intracities , and, of course, am always on the look for more.

And on top of all the freelance typesetting, I've been in the process of moving to a new, more civlized, domestic domicile. Pretty Maggie and I are pretty excited about this. As of October 1st, we'll be in our new apartment with a real kitchen with a working stove, and proper refrigerator, and a bathtub that doesn't take the length of a presidential administration to drain. We've been moving boxes over every day for the past few weeks, storing everything in my soon-to-be office. Last weekend we moved Pretty Maggie's stuff up from Long Island. In a couple of weeks, we move what furniture I'm keeping from my old place to our new place and spending the month of October shoveling out the remains of eighteen years of packratting in one place.

But by next Wednesday, we'll have moved the bed and computers to our new place and officially taken up residence. Like I said, we're very excited.

(For those who need the new address, ask me in a private e-mail, I won't be posting the new address to the journal site.)

Took it a little easy today. Dropped off some more boxes at the new place, then went to Dave & Busters for dinner and some games (I've gotten addicted to those dang coin games). Came home and did the Jerry Sohl book and enjoying a bit of nostalgia with Jim Croce's Photographs & Memories Greatest Hits CD.

No promises as to when I'll be doing the next entry. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe next week. Certainly not longer than that. Too much to report!

* * *
In keeping with today's music, I offer up Jim Croce, the webpage. Jim died much, much too young, but he was certainly one of the best musicians and songwriters that ever existed. Everyone should get a copy of Photographs & Memories or, at the very least, Life and Times.

Enjoy!
