Good god... has it really been October since I last made an entry? Where does the time go? (One answer: lost time goes to a factory in Allentown, PA where it’s shredded and used to stuff third-rate bed mattresses.) In any case, I’d like to get this journal-thing going again. Lord knows I’ve been a busy boy these past few months. I won’t go into all the holiday stuff (it was pleasantly exhausting for those who want to know) as it’s too far gone. My 37th birthday recently passed. I’m a year older (wheee). Some things of note: The current issue of the _SFWA Bulletin_ (which should be out in the mail by this time) contains an interview I did with Maryanne Mohanraj, Jed Hartman, and Susan Groppi of StrangeHorizons.com. (I don’t know yet if it’s going to be one of the “free” articles avaiable at the Bulletin website. I may be able to make a PDF available to those who ask.) “Digger Don’t Get No Requests” has been getting some good reviews in various LOW PORT listings. “A Small Goddess” came out in MEN WRITING SCIENCE FICTION AS WOMEN and while I’ve not heard anyone single it out for a good review, I’ve not heard anything bad about it either. Writing has been a little slow of late given how busy things have been around the house lately. Now that the holidays are finally over, I can settle down and get some real work done. I’ve started some new stories and have been prepping finished stories to be sent out. I’ve got myself a new printer, so I can even get things prepped on weekends. Freelance has been busy. For BearManor Media I’ve wrapping up PRIVATE EYELASHES, a book about OTR women detectives, a book on Pulp Westerns, a book by Joel Rapp, and getting started on the long-awaited Paul Frees book. Pretty Maggie is laid low with a cold, and I’m hoping that it clears for her soon. I’m doing what I can, but there are only so many times I can ask “Can I get you something?” before she gets that look that sez “You ask me that one more time and I’m going to shove this pillow down your throat.” Otherwise, it’s a happy domestic little household and I’ve not been happier ever. Well, this is a start. Hopefully I can get back to more regular postings. Get back into the discipline of writing each and every day. Hope all are well! * * * Today's link goes to www.almanac.com - The Farmer's Almanac webpage. I love almanacs, the this one is one of the best. Full of folksy stuff and astronomical info for the backyard astronomer. Enjoy! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
