It’s been a hectic week at work. Loads of big jobs in addition to dealing with scores of little jobs flitting in and out of the office. It’s much like fighting off a bear, mountain lion, and wolf while having a swarm of angry bees swirl around my head and a pair of beavers gnawing on my shins.

That’s the sort of week it’s been.

But it’s not all bad. When I get home, things always look up. It was fairly productive, freelance-wise. Now we’ll just have to see how much writing I can get done this weekend.

So after ten years, the TV show Friends is no more. Yes, I was a fan of the whitest show in America. It had brilliant bits of writing here and there, and you gotta give the actors credit. They did a good job. Looks like I’m down to just three regular TV sessions now. Tuesday-night’s BBC comedies, Saturday’s SNL (if I can stay awake) and Sunday morning’s Meet the Press.

Anyway, Friends is gone, and we soldier on with the promises of Joey come next season. Who knows? The sneak peek looked promising.

This morning, I knew I had a number of topics I wanted to cover. Now after dealing with the idiocy at the office, my mind has gone to blank, so no nuggets of wisdom will be forthcoming straight away. (Am I losing my touch? Gaahh! Gimme another chance starting next week.)

But to keep y’all on your toes, today’s link goes to a blog entry concerning the news that Stephen Donaldson has conned publishers into accepting a _third_ Thomas Covenant trilogy. I enjoyed these books as a kid. I read the first trilogy in the 7th grade. I read the second trilogy in high school. I’ve reread all of them at least a few times in the years in between. And now there’s a third trilogy to come? The mind boggles. But what’s more, can I stand re-reading the first six books again so I can get myself back up to speed on The Land? Don’t get me wrong--they’re very good, thoughtful books--but you’ve never met a more angst-ridden cast of characters. Now _I'm_ going to turn into an Unbeliever!

Today's link features a very clever and well-wrought parody of a typical Thomas Covenant scene. The entry can be found at Ylem - The Lost Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbelievable -- Tim Jones.

Enjoy!
