Music: NOFX: Heavy Petting Zoo TV/Movie: Gilmore Girls/Final Fantasy Link o' the Day: "http://www.inthesetimes.com/site/main/article/cold_turkey/”>an interesting piece by Kurt Vonnegut from “In These Times" The three-day weekend passed so peacefully that it was over before I knew it. Monday had me thinking it was only Sunday, and before you knew it--I was back at work. But the weekend was nice, most certainly. Pretty Maggie and I didn’t have anything in particular planned. We bought some DVDs. I played Final Fantasy for hours on end. I did some good writing. We went out to eat a few times. Went shopping. Watched the local college kids pack up from our porch. Teased the cats. We had a nice weekend. A market I had sent a couple of stories passed on one with an “almost. we liked it, but not quite there. we hope you’ll submit again” and the other is being held for further consideration. The workday, of course, is hectic. Playing a lot of catch-up. * * * I’ll admit it here because if I don’t, it might come up elsewhere, but in a more embarassing light which it doesn’t deserve--I spent part of this past weekend watching the first season of The Gilmore Girls on DVD. Okay, okay--I admit that I scoffed and so forth at the prospect of something that seemed, in my ignorance, the most chickiest of chick shows. And it is... _however_... it’s also one of the most brilliantly written TV shows I’ve come across in a while. So long as I don’t have to put up with much high school drama, I think I’ll enjoy the rest of the season. God help me. On the other hand, I also finally found a copy of Vol. 1 of Rumiko Takahashi’s Inuyasha. That’s turning out to be pretty good. It’s maybe not up there with Ranma 1/2 or Urusei Yatsura, but it’s close. I also picked up Vol 1. of a new series called Comic Party. I’ve not watched it yet, but it looks like it’ll be an amusing piece--maybe something akin to Otaku no Video, but without the annoying live-action otaku sequences. And today might be the day that Return of the King arrives! Rapture! hehe. But tonight, it’s some more writing, and some photo work for Spike Jones. * * * Today’s link goes to . He gives vent to his opinion on the United States as it is today. Check it out. Cheers! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
