Music: John Whelan's "Celtic Roots" TV/Movie: Teen Titans! Link o' the Day: East Greenwich Odeum So it's been a hell of a long week. Last Saturday's snow was no surprise. We had plenty of warning via various news networks. We saw people in the grip of panic at the supermarkets, video stores, music stores, and such. What left us in awe was how quickly it piled up and shut the city down. Monday was a loss. Tuesday was just getting better, then more snow on Wednesday and Thursday. Now the sun is shining bright, and hope springs eternal that it's going to melt some of this crap away. My leg has pretty much healed, although it's still shaky going down stairs. I _don't_ want to slide on my ass again. On top of snow, poor Pretty Maggie has been hit hard with the mother of all winter colds. It's been a week of misery for her. We've got piles of medications, and I've replenished the tissue supply, but she's been home since Saturday with the exception of a brief outing on Tuesday to see the doc. Today I hope to drag her to Borders in the hopes that getting out of the house for a short while might be a boon. On top of snow and sickness, I've been weighted down by deadlines. This morning I finally got Plain Beautiful: The Life of Peggy Ann Garner by Sandra Grabman (Bearmanor Media 2005) out in the mail. Next will be the Twilight Zone book. The editor for the SFWA Bulletin and I have been working madly to get this next issue to the printer by Monday so we can clear the board and get started on the Nebula issue. Next up are books on Guy Williams (Zorro, Lost in Space) and Edgar Kennedy (351 films between 1911 and 1949). I'm a little irked at UPS. They have my fiddle and are making me receiving said fiddle a true pain in the ass. I have this tirade all planned regarding this, but I'm going to wait until the brownshirts make good with my package before I post it. I'll know more late Monday afternoon. That's been the week. There's been more, of course, but I need to save something to write later, eh? Today's link takes you to the East Greenwich Odeum. Unless you live in southeastern New England, this won't mean much to you, but it's an amazing little place that has some pretty cool acts coming up including Janis Ian, Richie Havens, Tommy Maken, and Gaelic Storm. My dad had gotten me tickets to see Roomful of Blues (a band I used to roadie for back in the late 80s). Hokay, I'm out of here. Cheers!
