Music: Seamus Egan TV/Movie:Hannibal Rising - DVD commentary track Link o' the Day: Banjo Hangout Hey. Second day in a row. Shows promise. It's been a fairly productive time since my last post. I got a number of edits done on the current issue of The SFWA Bulletin, sent out three more poems, and have been following up on some short stories. I've started scripting work on a series of comic shorts ("Little Merlin In...), and prepping some changes for the April issue of Medicine & Health-Rhode Island. Not bad considering I overslept during my after-work nap. -=-=-=-=- One of the Big Events that occured during my brief (long) absence from these hallowed pages was my wedding to Pretty Maggie. Readers of this with long memories may remember my post of Feb. 15, 2005 when I wrote about the proposal. Well a bit over two years later we made it happen. It was a great ceremony with nearly 100 guests who joined us at The Cathedral of St. John in Providence, and who came to the Foster Country Club after for food, music, and dancing-dancing-dancing. There was a lot leading up to this wedding. Many plans. Much work. Much moolah. Most of the credit goes to Pretty Maggie who did all the organizing and planning and prodding. It went off without a hitch. It was, without a doubt, the most perfect day I've ever experienced, and I'm incredibly happy and lucky. Here's a quick pic: Left to right: My lovely bride, a bit of the priest, yours truly, my best man Chris Pierson (who flew in all the way from Alaska!), my dad, and my brother Andrew. More on this day in future posts down the line. -=-=-=-=-=-=- Today's link is to BanjoHangout.org. This is a wonderful site for banjo lovers like myself. In addition to a free monthly raffle to win great banjo gear, there are tutorials, tabs, recordings, and reviews of both music and instruments. If you're a banjo player, or just love one, make sure you check out this site. Cheers! --John Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
