Music: John Hartford TV/Movie: Airplane II: The Sequel Link o' the Day: WilliamShatner.com I have such a great idea for such a lousy story--about unspeakable acts inspired by unspeakable events. It'd be a hard sell, but I may just write it anyway. And keep it short. All I need is an ending that's a real ending and not a useless Existentialist meditation on Absurdity. Damn you, Kurt Vonnegut. You did this to me! Or maybe I just need more sleep. No rest for the wicked! More work to do today. I just got some pieces from a new client for a book if plays that's due in December. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Yesterday on this webjournal I put forth the idea of using clips of Charles Nelson Reilly in movies that now need to depict a near-future setting, but can no longer use a black president to do so. Some wonder why Reilly. There have been gay presidents before--maybe not out-of-the-closet-we-know-for-sure but there are arguments (if you're into that kind of thing). It doesn't really matter, tho. The reason for putting Charle Nelson Reilly up there to represent near-future presidencies is two-fold: My only other choice would have to be Hervé Villechaize. Yes, he was foreign-born, but if we allow foreign-born presidents who are also dead, we can save ourselves from the problem of a Terminator presidency. This is the sort of stuff I think about after three extra-large coffees. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Another short entry today as there's work to be done. Today's link goes to WilliamShatner.com because c'mon, can anyone get too much of this guy? He's a pop-culture giant. And that's that. Cheers!
