I'm taking a stab at this blog thing. I'd like to say it's because I'm that original and creative, but really it's because all my friends are doing it. Not in a way that's sad, though. My friends are all very smart and well written and I figured, hey, I can do this too, can't I? So to all my friends with blogs, thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for helping me jump on the blogwagon. :)

I thought long and hard about what to write about. Do I write about music? My life? My friends? Then it came to me. I'll write about one of the things I love most: Minneapolis, MN. This works out doubly well because in writing about my love for Minneapolis, I can't help but touch on all the other things I love: friends, music, food, etc. Perfect!

A little history about me. I've been living in Minneapolis since 1998 when I moved here from Fargo, ND to go to school. I fell in love instantly. Seeing the skyline still makes me blush. Just yesterday I noticed you could see it driving North-ish on Excelsior Blvd across Hwy 100 in St. Louis Park. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I moved to a happening neighborhood in uptown in August of 2002. That's when the fun REALLY started and I realized just how much is out there ready for the taking. The best part - it's all literally right under my nose.

I still live in the same building, which I think is not the norm for someone my age. I just passed the 3 year mark. In April of last year I moved up. 2 whole floors up to be exact. I now live in a corner unit with, drum roll please, a view of downtown! It's not the best view, I'll admit. I can only see the skyline in the fall and winter. Once the leaves grow back my view is blocked. But it's there. And it's beautiful. I also have a lovely view of the mall, with said trees, and the blinking sign on the Uptown Theatre.

My desire for this blog is to inspire people to take advantage of where they live. Be it Minneapolis, Chicago, NYC or where ever. Everyday I think how lucky I am to live in such a great city. You should too. If you don't, come join me in my great city!
