Our darling turned two years old today! He had a great birthday weekend. Bop and Baba (my parents) came over Friday night and Bop and Daddy built a nice little deck out the front of our house to cover up the old concrete step. Baba and myself kept Roman busy by going to a scrapbook store and the mall, and also playing in our little pool.

Today, his birthday, he got to go out to breakfast for pancakes. Then when he awoke from his nap, Papa and Grandma were here too (Doug's parents)! In between he got a call from his cousin Alek singing "happy birthday," with a "hi" from cousin Ian. He then got to out to dinner.

For presents he received a buffalo from his cousins in South Dakota (early present), a cooking kitchen from Bop and Baba, and a dump truck, scrub-and-shine Thomas choo-choo wash, and denim overalls from Papa and Grandma. From Mama and Daddy? Nothing yet; I did get some balloons for him, which seemed to make him happy. :) Figured grandparents' gifts were so overwhelming, we'll get something like a tricycle later.

At about 3:15 we had Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake; chocolate chip w/chocolate cake, with NEMO decorations. Very happy day. He was overwhelmed when we all sang "happy birthday" to him - he has talked about "happy cake" and "sing happy cake" but I don't think it dawned on him it would happen to HIM. He got kinda shy and clung to Doug's arm. Cutie pie.
