Working on: Reading a book while Roman naps. Ahh, the good life.
---------------------------------

The Jellystone here has wireless capabilities, so Doug decided it was time his laptop went wireless. We trekked down to the Radio Shack yesterday afternoon and bought whatever was needed. The guy laughed - he said that the director of the camp came to the store and said "I'm going wireless, this is what you need to stock. In return, I'll refer everyone down to you." We thought that was amusing.

We've been having a fantastic time. Relaxed, having fun with Roman. Roman has rediscovered the thrills of a pool, which he calls a "cool." We went twice yesterday and it's looking like twice today. He has avoided the playground in favor of getting to the pool whenever he can. He also actually agreed to a walk IN the stroller late yesterday afternoon. He slept 12 hours last night, so worn out from the excitement!

Back to the pool - he likes watching the bigger kids jump and splash, but wants to be in his Daddy's arms most the time. He likes watching Mama and Daddy go underwater and do silly things - Daddy did a somersault just to get a giggle. This morning we were in the pool at 9:50 a.m. and by 10:15 Roman's teeth were chattering, lips turning blue, and yet when we got out he cried out, "more cool! more swim!" and was visibly upset. He's a fish, I tell you.

He's popular with the kids around here, he's one of the younger ones. A couple nice girls, probably 10 or 11, were fawning over him at the pool yesterday. Otherwise we've just been playing at the campsite. We did go into town for lunch today. We parked at the Bavarian Inn, where the parking lot has access to the covered bridge. Roman loved walking across it - a bridge AND a tunnel, his two favorite things! We ate at Zehnder's for lunch just to say we did it. Took a few pictures, petted a horse (horse and carriage rides available), then came back here for naptime. We may head into town another day to poke around a little.

Doug puts a silly accent on when he says the names of stores that end in "Haus". He says it long and drawn-out like a big loud German. It sends Roman into fits of giggles and requests for "more? more?" So we thought we probably would have to go into the Cheese Haus. :)

Ah, last thought - Roman is a little scared of Yogi Bear. I took him to see the cartoons they show in the morning and he thought it was okay, we stayed about 15 minutes. He loves to wave at the statue of Yogi, but when the real Yogi appeared he was frightened. But then when we took him back to the camper, he wanted "more Yogi." The poor boy has some confused emotions about him.

Weather has been gorgeous. When we arrived Tuesday, at dinnertime there was an actual tornado warning in town - the sirens went off and everything. So we spent dinnertime in the bathroom for a half hour. Yesterday was overcast and cool, today is probably upper 70s and partly sunny. Perfect. Tonight is supposed to be cooler, in the mid-50s, so we're debating turning the heat on.

Well, back to reading and relaxing. Looking like chicken on the grill tonight. Our friends Mark and Jen, along with one of their 3 children, Sarah, are coming up around 5:30 to dine with us and play.
