2006-03-24 10:45 PM The Beginning So, here we go. I'm not sure how well this is going to work, but I've been thinking about doing this for quite some time now. I've always been into keeping journals, writing down how I feel, logging dreams, etc. Anything to keep my mind working!
As most of you know, I have finished writing my first novel. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I have given the first draft to a few trusted people to read, and, so far so good. I just recently finished my first round of revisions. Going back and re-reading, I can already see A LOT of improvement! I have also recently joined a few writers groups. It's great to speak to others who enjoy doing the same thing that I do - writing! I just received my first feedback from someone that isn't a friend or related to me... and it was very promising! Just hearing that I have gotten a few paragraphs right is extremely encouraging! Keep your fingers crossed for me! Next on the agenda is to get everyone that I know and love to start reading this, and posting comments! I'm counting on you all to keep me informed on what's going on with you in your lives, and to keep me sane while all of this is going on. It's not going to be long before I start sending out queries and then start the waiting period. That's going to be the hardest part! If I have given you a copy of my manuscript to read, PLEASE give me feedback. If there is something you like about a particular part of the book, or the entire thing, let me know. But, at the same time, if there is something that I have done wrong, left out, put too much of, I expect to hear about that as well! If you don't let me know how I can improve, then I never will. I appreciate all feedback, positive or negative. Just know that whichever you post, as long as you aren't mean about it (LOL!), I will appreciate it to the fullest. Thanks everyone, and I can't wait to hear from you!!! Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
