2006-09-12 7:11 PM Thank god for football Ok, so in case you couldn't tell by my background or the picture of my husband and I or the fact that I named my dog Heap, I am a HA-UGE Ravens fan.
That is why this was one of the best weekends I've had in a while. Football started back up, which means I get to watch the Ravens, and they kicked some serious ass!!! In the 5 years since they won the Superbowl (which, by the way happened when the team was a very young 5 years old), they didn't do a whole lot. They had some key players, but without a decent quarterback to lead them, it all sorta fell apart. (*Note: I LOVE Kyle Boller, the back up this year who was their starter for the past few years. First off, the guy is adorable, but that's not the only reason I like him - I'm not that shallow. No, the guy has the potential to be a great quarterback but he was thrown into the starting position as a rookie with no veteran to watch or learn from. But enough about that.) Now we have Steve McNair, a good offensive line and a bad ass defense once again, and WE ARE BACK!! OOOOHHHHH I get the chills just thinking about the rest of the season! And to kick off the first weekend of football, we went to our friends' house in Annapolis and watched the game with about 30 other hard core fans. We had a great time. We took the dog with us and he got to play with a bunch of other dogs while we ate, drank, and swam all day. It was perfect. However (isn't there always an however?), both my husband and I woke up yesterday morning with horrible raging colds. We both look like Rudolph! My boss was even nice enough to point out to me today that indeed, my nose was BRIGHT red. Like I hadn't noticed. But anyhoo, I hope everyone had a great weekend, and if you like football, I hope your teams did well! Only 4 1/2 days left till the next game!!!
