2006-10-07 12:48 PM Shiver me timbers Any one watch the weather channel yesterday or today? If you did you got to see old Mike Seidel standing on the beach, around 30th St. (located directly behind our small surf shop), being pelted with sand.
That's because we had one of those wonderful storms we so often get, a Nor'Easter. It simply means that the wind blows hard from the North East. Original name, huh? I thought so. Anyway, we got 2.5" of rain in about 36 hours and had 40mph winds with gusts up to and a little over 50mph. The wind comes in from the ocean and covers everything in salt and sand. It's pretty miserable, to say the least. It's definitely a curl up on the couch and watch a movie day. Too bad I can't do that - gotta work. At least I have off tomorrow and it's supposed to clear up, the wind will die down and the temp will rise about 10 degrees. So, I guess I'll go pretend to work a little now. Shitty weather means less people in town (even though it was the hot rod car and surf fishing events this weekend) and that, in turn, means less people in the store. Maybe I'll post some pics I took the other day, or something. I don't know. I'm just rambling at this point. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
