2006-12-01 3:17 PM Holly-day questions 1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? I really like them both, but would lean slightly towards a hot chocolate preference. 2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? When I was younger, we would have wrapped presents leading up to Christmas. The on Christmas morning we would wake up to find all of the unwrapped presents Santa left. 3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? I much prefer colored lights. 4. Do you hang mistletoe? I have a few times. 5. When do you put your decorations up? Normally we put up a tree on Thanksgiving weekend. But because we're moving next week, it will have to wait a little longer. 6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Christmas cookies 7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child: Waking up at 5:30 because we couldn't sleep anymore and trying to wake our parents. They would tell us to go back to sleep and we would climb into bed, tossing and turning til we couldn't take it anymore. Half an hour later we would be running down to the living room oohing and aahhing over all the stuff under the tree. 8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I was probably seven or so. My father was in a band and one of the guys named 'Big Al' would dress up as Santa and go to all of our houses. One Christmas eve as I was sitting on his lap I realized Santa reminded me an awful lot of 'Big Al'. I said something about it to my parents, who of course denied it, but after that I pretty much knew. For the next few years I had to pretend he was still Santa for my little brother. 9.Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve? We used to open one on Christmas eve when I was younger, but because my husband and I are running around to different relatives houses on Christmas, we open them all on Christmas eve. 10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Colored lights and ornaments. 11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Lurve, Lurve, Lurve!!! Love Love Love!!! I can't get enough, and we rarely do now that I live at the beach. When we lived in Baltimore we got a lot more. 12. Can you ice skate? Yes. I am a professional. HAH! Kidding! I can hold my own, though, just check out the video of us under the heading 'ice capades'. 13. Do you remember your favorite gift? There were so many great gifts, it's hard to pick just one. There was the life size St. Bernard that I called 'Hitchhiker' and would ride him so much I broke his back. Then there was Barbie's dreamhouse, and my Fisher Price badass kitchen set - fridge, stove and sink. 14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Being with family and friends. 15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Christmas cookies 16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? It no longer takes place, but we used to have everyone from both sides of the family and a bunch of outr neighbors over to our house on Christmas eve. Then we would eat, drink and be merry! Then we got to open up all our presents from my father's parents and sisters. 17. What tops your tree? It's different every year. Sometimes it's just a big pretty bow, sometimes it's a light-up star 18. What is your favorite Christmas/Holiday Song? Don't laugh - it's the Christmas song by Wham! I love that song! And I like 'It's the most Wonderful Time of the Year', just for that line. I love that line! 19. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? So-so. Gotta be in the mood. 20. Fruit cake! Yuck or Yum? Yuk!
