Books and other stuff I feel like discussing

By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat.

Changing the masthead

This evening I revised the header at the top of the journal to remove the reference to "two cats" and segue more smoothly into describing Grinch.

I've also removed the blankets piled up in Roseanne's favorite spots for a nap, moved the furniture around a little in the living room, and washed the blankets and put them away.

This morning I woke, feeling that it was time for a day to be "normal" and that if I had to be aggressive with myself, I would be.

So I was up at 6:30, breakfasted and ready for a walk with friends by 8, off to my water exercise class at 10, and a movie and dinner out with Mr W this afternoon.

Familiar routines help, at least they help me. There have been almost no days in my life with familiar routines since before Christmas, what with the snow, a bad asthma attack, and all the upheaval of my father's funeral and then Roseanne's illness. Today felt good in a way, and a little strange in another way - almost as if I was being disrepectful to my Dad and to Roseanne by returning to a "routine" life. I know that's illogical, but there it is.

More routine tomorrow! I've promised myself!

And of course, the Denver area expects MORE SNOW on Saturday! THAT routine I can do without!
