Woodstock's Blog Books and other stuff I feel like discussing By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat. |

2007-10-02 12:26 AM Coors Field Nugget Ten - Oh boy squared Rockies off to face the Phillies in Philadelphia on Wednesday after a 13 inning, 9-8 win over the Padres on Monday.
Phones were relatively quiet, a few nutcases, nothing worth writing about. Most of the questions were related to MLB's contract with cable channel TBS to carry playoff action in baseball this fall. After I closed the switchboard, I went over to lost and found to help log items in. The tiny room behind the booth looked like a Salvation Army outlet - a startling number of VERY nice jackets and sweaters, many of them soaked with beer. Two backpacks, 8 cameras, 3 sets of keys, and for a change, no cellphones. I wasn't counting, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that there were nearly 200 items found as the fans left the stadium. One guy, who should get the "most honest fan" award, turned in a wallet with quite a few $$, and several credit cards. Fortunately, there was an ID as well, so the person who lost it will get it back intact. Next game at Coors is Saturday. Stay tuned. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
