Books and other stuff I feel like discussing

By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat.

Give that gal a star!

A few months ago, I got an MP3 player. It's about the size of an old fashioned "zippo" type cigarette lighter. That's pretty much where things stopped, until this afternoon. When I first unpacked it, I loaded a few things onto the player, but hadn't seriously put my mind to listening to anything. I sat down last night with a set of headphones, and figured out how to listen to what was on the player. This afternoon I sat down with ALL my Christmas CD's (I've got a bunch) and burned my favorite tracks on to the MP3 player. Brought up an old set of computer speakers from the basement, hooked up a couple of cables and an AC adapter, hit the shuffle switch, and hey! I've got a nice set of carols to play during the next few weeks. I don't have a multi-CD player, so this will fill that void nicely.

I'm feeling very smug, and also thinking I should work with the rest of my CD's and set up playlists for myself from all the other stuff I've got.

The only thing missing is my favorite Christmas CD. I know I listened to it last year - wonder where it's hiding?
