Woodstock's Blog Books and other stuff I feel like discussing By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat. |

2008-03-01 5:13 PM Bunny Update We continue to see evidence of our little neighbor, and Mr Woodstock spotted him (her?) in person a day or two ago. We've had several light snowfalls of late, and based on the early morning evidence in the snow covered grass, we think the little guy has made camp under our neighbor's semi-retired pickup parked by the side of their garage.
Our lawn, and the neighbors, faces south, so the high altitude sun makes quick work of the light covering of snow. But we see tell tale bunny tracks if we think to look early enough in the day. But earlier this week in the middle of the day, the little one was in our front yard, munching on some early shoots of grass near the bushes which line the sidewalk. I'm rather wistfully relieved that he/she has managed to make it to adulthood, and cautiously rooting for it to enjoy a long life. On our early morning walk a couple of weeks ago, a friend and I watched a healthy coyote strolling calmly across the frozen lake which is surrounded by the jogging path. This is less than three blocks from my front yard - I'm quite aware that a bunny would be no match for a determined, hungry coyote. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
