Books and other stuff I feel like discussing

By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat.

Pitching

Brandon Hynick of the Rockies AAA affiliate Colorado Springs Sky Sox pitched a perfect game Tuesday night. It was part of a double header, where both games are seven innings long in the minors. There's a link on ColoradoRockies.com which has the whole story.

And over in LA, Jason Marquis blanked the Dodgers 3-0, pitched the complete game, threw only 86 pitches, and helped his cause with two RBI's. With a 7 pm first pitch on the west coast, it made for a late night staying up to watch the whole thing, but I did, and reveled in the pleasure!

One more game in LA against the division leaders, and then a ten game homestand which will include 2 fireworks games. The fireworks games always pad the paycheck, long hours and a long wait for the parking lot to open up.

But as always, I'm eager to get back to work.
