Woodstock's Blog Books and other stuff I feel like discussing By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat. |

2011-04-14 5:57 PM Superstition A few years ago, catcher Paul Phillips was up from AAA Colorado Springs and filling in for a player on injured reserve. He was being interviewed by a particularly pesky reporter on the subject of individual quirks and "lucky" charms or actions. He responded rather testily "It's bad luck to be superstitious."
Well, bad luck/good luck, I'm approaching my observation in today's blog very very tentatively. Which team, as of 6 pm Colorado time this afternoon, has the best won/loss record in Major League Baseball? I'm not going to type the name, I think you can figure it out. Since several games are scheduled for this evening, this moment may not last. But it's a lovely thought to contemplate as I go out to the kitchen to fix supper!
