Woodstock's Blog Books and other stuff I feel like discussing By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat. |

2014-07-23 3:00 PM Back in Action At least, I hope so. The last 6-8 weeks have been rocky ones, but I hope I can say I am on the upswing. What caused the uneven spells is really not much fun to talk about, so I'm going to skip it.
I went back to the Rockies on the Fourth of July, and have been working every other game since then. My energy level is still uneven, but it has been a shot in the arm to be back at the stadium. I missed exactly half the season - signed back in for game #42. Dozens of co workers and other stadium staff expressed pleasure to see me again, including the general manager! That kind of medicine doesn't come in bottles and potions and would not be affordable if it did. I know I'm behind on recording my reading log. I have an intention to remedy that as soon as possible, but on top of everything else I've been coping with multiple computer issues - at the moment am relying on the wi fi at Starbucks, since my modem took a header the other day. I haven't copied my books list over to my laptop, it's marooned on my desktop machine which can't connect online at the moment. So hello to all my readers/followers. I hope to be more talkative in the coming days Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
