2003-05-19 6:23 PM Not Enough Time Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.
My thesis student showed up after lunch. He said that he won’t be defending anytime in the near future because he hadn’t even completed the theoretical background section yet, which is just in the first two chapters. I guess he’s already accepted the fact that he’ll be paying the residency fee for the first term then. I can give him his grade for the summer term then, which is deferred. I saw my co-teacher with whom I created the slide presentation last weekend, but I didn’t get to ask him if he had finished it already. Same with our junior groupmember who's supposed to present it on Wednesday. I also saw the proposed Lab head, but neither of us mentioned the presentation either, as we only passed each other in the cubicle aisles. Today I also found out the details about the wake and interment of a former co-teacher of mine who died yesterday. I won’t go into details right now, but since the burial is on Wednesday, the same time as our Faculty Assembly, the only chances we have to extend our condolences to the family are tonight and tomorrow. Tonight would be the best opportunity for me to go because I could ride with our former chairman who lives in the same area. I could also hit two birds with one stone and go to my parents’ house, bring over my laundry, and maybe even stay the night. Anyway, that's why I have to cut this short here.
