Mood: Preoccupied with Pacing My Three Astronomy Classes Read/Post Comments (0) |
2003-06-04 12:06 PM Snowballing Schedule Changes Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.
Stayed overnight again last night, first time since the third week of May. I have set my 2 of the five alarms on my celphone five minutes apart at 5am, and two at 7am, so I could go to work at 5am if I wanted to, even if my first class is still at 920am. My two co-teachers who also stayed overnight were scandalized by my alarms though. Unlike my old watch and cel phone alarms, this one, instead of going off for one full minute, only beeps really loudly for twenty seconds. That is why I had to set more than one alarm in succession, because I have had the experience of sleeping through just one. I had to prepare three things before going to my first class. One was the transparencies of the constellations for my lecture. Second were some readymade questions and answers for using their zodiac constellation calendar. Lastly there was the exercise description for my programming class immediately after the first astronomy class, which is just in the next room. This last one had to be printed out and cut up for at most twenty-five students. When I got to my first class though, most of the freshman block wasn’t there. Only the three ID number 2000 students among those numbered 2003, who had adjusted to that class were there. I asked one of them to go to the registrars office to tell them what I was supposed to do in that situation, which we all suspected was because of their ID picture taking. According to my student, the registrar’s office just said for me to write a note on the board for the faculty attendance checker. Barely twenty minutes into the official class time though, one of the freshman students came in to say that they were just in the next room, where their block officers election in their orientation class ran a little long. This was something that was supposed to have been done the week before, but got delayed because of the suspension of classes last Wednesday. The freshmen orientation facilitator, who is a student volunteer, even went into my classroom to apologize for what happened. The rest of the class, just a little delayed, went on without a hitch after that. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
