Mood: Looking Ahead Read/Post Comments (0) |
2003-10-10 9:48 AM What I Intend to Do Instead of What Happened Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.
Today I distribute all the tickets for the field trip to my three classes. Not just the tickets, but also the park folders and small plastic envelopes they come in, as well as the brochure with the park map and how to get there, and their activity sheet. I had to throw out the high school level computational problems that originally came with the folders, because the last time I left them in there, some students actually answered them, even though I told them it wasn't required, and I DIDN'T tell them there would be additional points for solving them. I'll also be reminding them again that to get the full points they will have to take pictures of themselves performing the experiment, and not posing with any of the park characters. Same with some of the tame rides which are not part of the experiment list. I will them about the bonus for submission of the report before the Wednesday deadline, and the bonus for submitting a review to the 4D Discovery Theater. I won't give them bonus points anymore for pictures taken before and after the Wild River ride. If any students will ask if I'll be there, I MIGHT tell them about the bonus for taking (and submitting) a picture of me. Hopefully they will already understand that the documentation removes all need for us to meet in a specific part of the park at any certain time, and that they can stay there for as short as an hour if they have completed the activities they want. And, because of the groupings we have already established and the line in the activity sheet about allowing pictures to be submitted by group, I will again have to emphasize that reports are individual, because even if they ride side-by-side, their observations cannot be exactly the same. Lastly, I will tell them that the free day because of this activity will be on October 24, Friday. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
