Planning Out the Next Two Weeks

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

In my three astronomy classes yesterday I discussed more or less the same constellations, all ending in Ursa Minor and Polaris. Finally, in the near future my one-and-a-half hour, twice-a-week 1250pm class will be ahead of the one-hour, three-times-a-week classes. This means that by the time the Nov. 26 holiday rolls by, I would only have to stretch the Monday and Friday one hour lectures for the Nov. 24 and 28 classes.

I'm already thinking of having another test on the 24th. There has been enough material covered for a 50-point or even a 100-point exam. It's just a matter of giving the students enough lead time to study in announcing it.

Yesterday I also went back to the Makati office of the theme park to buy tickets for my co-teacher Lydia's field trip there on Thursday next week. This is even though my other co-teacher Ronald last Tuesday already bought the tickets for my nine students left behind as well as for his class.

Technically that means we have three trips this term, even four, if I count the one of another co-teacher of mine, Gilbert, whose class not only decided on their own schedule but wants to arrange for transportation for their block.

The coordinators in the Makati office were confused why I wrote down Nov. 20 when my name appeared on a previous purchase for Nov. 16. I had to explain that this was a separate schedule.

In fact, because it is for a weekday visit, student tickets only cost P250 and their companions only paid P275, instead of the weekend rate of P315 and P335 respectively.

I was supposed to buy several extra tickets for Ronald, but most of them backed out except for one, not really being required to go. One student in the class of another co-teacher Edgar, who had bought 30 tickets, was backing out. So I just gave her the money Ronald passed on to me, and I handed her ticket to Ronald.

Good thing I didn't have to buy Ronald's extra ticket or the coordinators would have been really bewildered.
