An Example of The Hastily Built House Upon The Sand

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

So last time I was talking about the Band Fest: it was supposed to have happened last night, but it got moved to the twenty-fifth. And it was announced the day before the event.

Sir Edgar the organizer said it was the Executive Vice President’s decision, but of course all the participants – since a lot of them rushed practice and probably screwed up their own schedules - are angry at him, including some students who are supposed to sell picnic foods for their NSTP fund raising, and they had bought all the raw ingredients overstocking their families’ refrigerators, now for two weeks it turns out.

It is also interesting to note the Sir Edgar, when talking to the students, made the scapegoat the Vice President for Administrative Services, who, they said, denied use of the covered court at the last minute because of some event for the Integrated School.

We should make it a rule that unless it’s a visiting professor giving a lecture on short notice*, we should never plan events less than a month before they’re due.

Speaking of botched reservations, the Integrated School teachers have also been asking me about the Young Educators’ Society reserving the auditorium for a Quiz Bee today, when they wanted to use it for a film showing as part of their Science Camp.

Twice to different people I had to deny knowing anything about it (thankfully no cocks crowed whilst).

After all, talking with the guy put in charge of those types of contests, Alain, we already discussed having the first one in March, internally, until we are honed enough and ready to hold one publicly and inviting people outside our school venue (sounds familiar).

I have to talk to them about when they made that reservation, if it was they, and why they were able to do so without my signature.

For the Open Campus next week I’m set for the grounds tour again, as well as the Robotics demo.

The Election Consideration will have one whole entry (probably more) for itself in its resolution, although my part of it is done and I’m just waiting for the kid to accept it.

Now, on to the sixth week of classes: in my Electromagnetic Theory classes I first finished showing them the examples of getting the electric field for straight lines, at different points along the symmetry and off it.

It was their first real exposure to how integral calculus is applied to their major.

It seems now that for this class they have to bring not only their notes from electricity and magnetism subject we had two terms ago, but also from their INTECAL either last term with David or two terms ago with Maila.

I’ll have to stop here for now though. I’ll continue this, and my sessions in Advanced Math and mechanics lecture, next week. And we’re out of here.

*That’s only if she has no special requirements that need to be set up ahead of schedule other than the standard audio system and multimedia equipment.
