2006-05-16 2:36 PM Things New and That Don't Change for the New School Year Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Okay, the site of the student version is still down. At least there is already a placeholder page explaining what happened and saying when they expect to be back up and running. So hopefully I can post there again by tomorrow - for the first time this week. The institutional assembly was this morning, starting with a Eucharistic celebration, welcome remarks by the Executive Vice President, introduction of Bro. A the president of the system (which is being dissolved) who is also the president of the new incorporation of all the founder's schools in the country (not just the few that are part of the system). The incorporation, under the name "National" or "Philippines" will take effect on June 1, after some of the schools have already started their classes. According to Bro. A, the incorporation doesn't even have a physical office yet. There are currently eighteen schools in the incorporation, including three that have just started in the past two years. Just like the last two years that I've heard the speech, this time Bro. A again made popular reference to an upcoming movie, this time "The Da Vinci Code". There was a symbolic passing of a standard to the new president of the campus, Bro. R, and the taking down of the flag of the system. Afterwards there was also the introduction of the new principal of the Integrated School, Bro. J, and the two new brothers gave their acceptance speeches, although Bro. J also gave the homily or Gospel reflection during the Mass. The half-day program ended with Bro. A talking about the proposed unification projects (such as a standard method of instruction and application qualification cut-offs) which will be started during the incorporation, that this year will implement their first phases: researches, feasibility studies and other methods of data gathering. Session 1117's flag was taken down. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
