The Declining State of Educational Institutions in the Country

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

I don't know yet how to break it gently in the student version, but from the research forum I attended yesterday, there were just as many bad points as good points seen (and obvious to the student participants - of which only our school sent any, for some reason) that are weighing just as heavily in my mind while composing what to write for today's journal entries.

After all, I do not want to be seen by the students as publicly lambasting all the other nearby schools where I am not employed - and where they are not enrolled, although sometimes the decision is not up to them and they can change their minds easier than teachers can change employers.

For one thing, it was very sad to see that some of the school presented researches for the intention of learning how to pass the regional accreditations, especially to be able to continue offering the courses they know a lot of people believe to be an easy steppingstone to working and earning a lot of dollars abroad.

This is foremost on their minds because of the recent crackdown of institutions who do not meet a certain number of graduates a year that will pass the board exam for both overseas-faring professions.

It is still true, after all, that there are certain opportunistic individuals who will attempt to exploit people's desires for a (legally) better life by opening their own "schools" with a minimum tuition fee to help land them fast enriching jobs, but not really give them a lot of instruction to pass the board exams, which they can ultimately return the blame to the students for getting a failure.

It was also noteworthy that none of the schools with those very colorful advertisements on television and street banners attended the research forum. Who needs research, they probably say, when we're too busy luring students into our campuses and coming up with better ideas to promote our school with tactics better suited to selling soap or toothpaste than education?

Session 1125 did not pass the board exam. Class dismissed.
