2006-11-04 1:44 PM Student Organizations Getting Dis-Organized Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. So we had that sudden tune up game for the badminton club yesterday, which the coach was only able to tell one player on Thursday night (and not even an officer of the club at that) expecting it to be told to all of the members before Friday. That wasn't what happened though. Another member (one of the girls who won in the women's doubles championship in the last tournament) only sent text messages to two of the founding members who were in my class yesterday at around lunch time. Even with the miracle of modern technology allowing parents to be informed of last minute plans such as these, it was still poorly planned. If the message had gone to the right officers soonest, a lot of the students may have been able to inform their parents of the intention the night before, and catered better transport coordination than we actually had, with at least three of the students' cars having to be left in a mall near the school (instead of in the school parking lot) since we were expecting to be back close to midnight (and something evil - nah). Two of the cars that we did bring went out of their way to transport people back to those cars, when a nearer parking solution was available. In other organization news, the Dance Troupe, after that bad misunderstanding about management following the leadership camp, still apparently has not completely healed the rift between the freshmen and the upperclassmen, since even though the officers have assigned a freshman (who was also tasked by the interim president during the first term) for a dance number for the coming youth conference, when the Executive Vice President asked to watch the dance, and the officers thought they should watch the dance FIRST before the EVP did, the freshmen believed the older students did not have the right to critique their performance, when it was the founding members' group name at stake. What's worse is that the secretary of the Office of Student Affairs seems to be on the side of the freshmen on this issue. Session 1387 doesn't respect seniority. Class dismissed.
