How Does the Teacher Give All the Breaks Without Letting Them Know So They Don't Demand for More?

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Not all of the students showed up for the general science requirement mechanics lab finals, even though it was posted along with every other subject since last week. Most of them gave me the reason that they thought the practical exam was it, and there was no more.

It was partly my fault for assuming that their very first teacher gave them their grade breakdown that included the written finals, and for not reminding them about the breakdown and the existence of the written finals during the practical exam, but then I was also too busy to collect their payments for the field trip that I had to pass that off to the technician.

I also forgot to tell them about where to photocopy the waiver form and the activity sheet, which I had to tell them when I saw them in the hallways in the next few days afterwards, and when the usual stragglers bought their tickets even though I was already in the park enjoying the rides.

Anyway, it was my standard finals asking them to write down the objectives, materials, set-up illustration, theory, procedure, graphs, analysis and conclusion, sources of error and recommendations for improvement.

The only differences are that this time I gave a strict point count for each part, and told them to only discuss at least four experiments out of the seven.

But I told them that it was still possible for them to earn two hundred points over a hundred, which was my cut off for the twenty percent equivalent.

I also told them this was some sort of an additional reward to those who really performed the experiments, since I said truthfully that it will only add up to their grades, which apparently their former teachers already gave them through a mailing list group, and I only got a print out.

Also, some people submitted their field trip reports without the folder, that was specified in the activity sheet to be included. Do I dare generalize and say it’s the Communication Arts students that do not pay attention to the details?

Session 1447 have different attitudes towards major and minor subjects. Class dismissed.
