2007-04-13 10:26 AM The Ego of Someone Saying "I Should Be Everyone's Standard" Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. There’s a reason for my targeting that retiring crone in the student-accessible version: she’s one of those people who don’t actually inspire you with their achievements, but is actually the cause of rebellious behavior in others. In other words, we’re talking about a dictator here, who, despite her off-sideline position in the organizational chart, acted like she was still in charge. My first exposure to her was at one of the institutional workshops off campus at a swimming resort. In one of the sessions before that first night, she actually went to the microphone to talk about “lights out” at 10pm. If there’s one thing she doesn’t understand, it’s how to keep her underlings happy, and she can’t do that if she expects them to treat the workshop as a concentration camp. In her speech last night she even talked about letting go of maids that she can’t train in one month. Well, I’m sure the sun, the moon and the stars all revolve around her in her universe. My second encounter with her was at the most recent retreat, where, for some unfortunate reason, some of the faculty and staff were not able to eat breakfast. On the last day of the retreat, when our facilitator asked for people who wanted to tell of their own personal experiences of the sessions, she again took the microphone and said that first, it was supposed to be a time for reflection, so those who were not able to eat one meal should not be complaining. But she didn’t stop there: she also berated those who ate more than their share of the food (not a proven fact) which she believe is why there was a shortage. In other words, she scolded everyone who was there. As if her own position as commando tightwad on an ivory stand was any better and enviable. More anecdotes on her I will relate some other time. So somehow with her retiring, I can hear the IS teachers and the staff singing to themselves something like “The Wicked Witch of the West Is Dead”. Session 1587 wants to rule by carrying a big stick… that is up her ass. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
