2007-06-27 11:32 AM Four Weeks' Planning for A Yearly Celebration Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Today I will be meeting with representatives from the Student Council and Engineering Assembly to discuss the science and technology parts of the celebration of Foundation Day for the fourth week of July. There are three other parts of the program: the public school scholarships and other outreach activities, tie ups with industry and companies and commitment to nature and the environment. There are several thrusts to the science and technology portion that I would like to highlight: first of all is the engineering lab exhibit that I cooked up for third term last year. This could fill up seven stations or tables in the engineering laboratories, and we could probably come up with more. At the same time, we could high light the three-dimensional floor plan creations the students made from their computer aided drawing and design class two years ago, which were never displayed. My robotics class will be having their second project-slash-competition, which will be another invader-defender type like what was tasked to the students two years ago. There could be another Innovation Contest, but for this I need the help of the other teachers handling science, math and engineering subjects, because I don't have any incentives to give the first year to third year students to join. This, unlike the engineering exhibit, are the types of projects that can just be left for the children to play with on their own, and don't have to be guarded. Lastly, we could also revive the Analytical Contest so that the freshmen can join (actually for most repeat activities this is the first time the first years will be able to join). For this one we plan to extend the contest to two weeks every two days so that there will be more time for people to be aware of the schedules. In my talk with the games organizer of the acquaintance party, we could use the prizes they had left over from that event, which they didn't use up all, although that seems like they planned it poorly. Session 1687 need to be pushed to excel in exhibits. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
