Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

I'm glad that the director of the school of engineering here is one who is also interested in intellectual challenges as a hobby.

He joined in one of the Analytical Quotient contest questions before, when it was held in the engineering faculty room, and solved it correctly.

During our recent college faculty meeting, he passed to me one of those two minute mystery photocopies, obviously reproduced from a book collection.

I hope this means he'll be supporting my other efforts at getting the students to test and try in increase their mental capacity.

I'm also satisfied that he's also as hellbent as I am about not letting slacker co-teacher get away with having no classes on Wednesdays and always moving his eight o'clock schedules.

I am going to be relieved of my Computer Systems Organization lab class, as well as one of my Intermediate Robotics laboratories, both on the same day, since the dean says I'm overloaded.

The first one will be given to one of the two graduates last April who were hired by the school, the Computer science major.

The second one will be given to slacker co-teacher and since we already moved it once, he will not have the chance the change the schedule again.

The director though is apprenhensive, the same as I am, that under his supervision the students are not going to be learning anything, just as with his other lab classes where there are no manuals and he lets the students spend the three hours working on a project he gave them for a few minutes.

Another plan we have after the thesis defense recently is to have required oral reports for the students during their lab classes, to help them improve their skills in verbal presentations.

So there is no need for the other option of increasing their English units from three for speech or change the others from business writing to more speaking lessons for interviews and such.

Session 1851 is only associate professor in technical rank but not in demeanor. Class dismissed.
