Looking Forward to Next Term Already

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Well, it looks like for next term I will be teaching the same courses that I have for this term. In other words, no new preparations.

I'm talking about Computer Architecture, Computer Systems Organization and Assembly Language, offered to the engineering and computer science students.

For the first two, it's now a regular offering instead of a special class, for which, due to a rearrangement of schedule to accommodate adjustment for graduate courses, will now have one lab which will be given to my co-teacher and former student.

Assembly Language was not even supposed to be in the menu, based on my original - and tentative, now obviously - given load.

But it turns out that during academic advising yesterday, the third year irregular engineering students would only have nine units to enroll in for next term, because they did not read the notification about the period of petitioning posted.

I told them to talk to the associate dean about it, and somehow she relented (adding at least three subjects for them to be minimum load of fifteen), and included the adjustment in my class.

It may also be partly due to the fact that from the initial analysis, a lot of the technical course teachers are underloaded this term.

What I don't know is the status of the petitioned courses for the fourth year engineering irregulars, that they only took care of at the start of November, when the end of the petitioning period was end of October, and for which they had a letter on the desktop of one of the computers in the Engineering faculty room (this one, in fact) that I don't know if it was printed or not.

Of the courses they asked for (including their new and all encompassing plan of study), only four out of seven were given, at it seems two of those are regular offerings, so they will be disappointed once again, and blame anyone other than themselves.

Session 1911 does not want to accept not graduating on time even as an irregular. Class dismissed.
