Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Thanks to Shennanigans for the comment yesterday. It's one of those "you'll thank me for it later" situations that I never thought I'd find myself on the speaking side of, but I believe it's better for their future success and for the reputation of the school. Today unfortunately, I have another slacker rant, about the teacher this time. So the brother president asked the faculty about possible qualifications for the new dean. Apparently, in a reply e-mail, slacker co-teacher gave three suggestions. Two of them pointed to himself and to me, as being the only two graduates here from another campus run by the same brothers, since he said they should be very familiar with the qualities we want to instill in the students (although not exactly embody, because he would be ruled out of that, a lot will agree). Then he added that the nominee should be an MS graduate, which eliminates me. Why didn't he just say he should be nominated himself, the egomaniac? As if anyone would agree to him being dean, that is, given his laziness and propensity for being just all talk and jokes. Good thing one of the additional requirements given by the others is having at least two years experience in an administrative position, with definitely eliminates him from the list. And just like some of the students he teaches, he takes it against the director of the school for not allowing him his excesses, and therefore wants to eliminate the guy from being nominated either. He also twists stories about the director around to make him look like a crazy irrational person, who he brags can't order him around because slacker goes straight to the dean, something that only happened once, and not repeated since, as even the dean from our meetings agrees slacker is really getting lazier. Session 2039 is just waiting for the day slacker's immigration pushes through and becomes some other country's problem. Class dismissed.
