2008-03-31 3:26 PM A/P: Own Agendas Breached At Last Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Okay, so a few insider (trading) tidbits about last Saturday's activities. First of all, during the talk of the dean, which got to half an hour before lunch, the remaining time was just given for an open forum, which degenerated to ultimately several people saying "we think the brother president is wishy-washy" and "how can we ensure that we have a say in decisions that will be made by the bosses in the future about how much work we will be given and how much money we will we making?" The point is, they don't. They had just gotten used to the unusual situation of having the dean (former executive vice president's) ear. But if they're this whiny, it's no wonder our students are the same way. They also don't know how to respect the authority of the brothers in these matters. Good thing slacker co-teacher wasn't there (although I'm sure it will be noted in his growing record in non-participation). If they don't like what will be happening in the future, they can leave. After all, the dean has given us that example at the very least. I was also surprised that the dean asked me to lead the starting prayer, and that my closing line "welfare of the students and reputation of the school before personal conveniences" strangely echoed the last slide the dean presented. About the afternoon session, and the different ideas of different people from different university backgrounds on the amount of credit to be given to plans of research and research itself, will be continued in succeeding posts, as I said in the student accessible version, in consideration of the amount of time and space I want surfers to fully appreciate my points and not click on to the next "channel" out of boredom. Session 2093 has a touch of petulence that trickles down to the impressionable youth. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
