2008-04-10 11:03 AM A/P: People Who Feel Their Life Is More Important and Should Be Prioritized By Everyone Else Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Am caught in the middle of these two non-communicating parties again, but not because of an argument - they just find it easier to have me handle all the correspondence despite the presence of a secretary for one party and the fact that I also have finals to contend with all throughout this week. It started with my former undergraduate thesis adviser (who actually is just two years older than me - he was the president of the major's professional student organization when I was a freshman - contacting our campus for the second time in five years to have one of their researches (this time a collaboration with Taiwan that I've detailed in the student accessible version) held here instead of at their crowded area. What's weird about this is that last time, I already gave him the e-mail address of our dean (then EVP) to formalize the proceedings. Now it's apparently easier for him to bug me about it by calling my mobile phone at odd hours than to look through the archive of his mailbox and find it. He doesn't mind the extra time it will take for me to talk to the dean then get back to him, instead of him sending a note directly and get replied to faster. It didn't help that I already gave him the phone number of the secretary of the dean, especially on a day when I would be in class most of the time and would be unable to answer his call. After our three day set up of their equipment, it's back to the same routine. He's bugging me again not only about whether our meeting tomorrow to iron out the details of the now running equipment will push through, and at the same time asking about how to get here by commuting from a certain location between here and another campus. His last text message included a repeat of the question on how things are going that I thought I had replied to earlier, and now added "please reply" which may have meant he didn't get my earlier text by an internet site. So I replied again saying sorry I didn't have any credits on that phone to be able to answer immediately, and that I would be giving him the other details by e-mail, which unfortunately, didn't send him the correct message because he's still texting me. Or was - until I didn't reply to his last text by the same website, which means that all future messages will now be blocked. More on this (pun intended) tomorrow. Session 2109 as a boss should not dicriminate about who to talk to about certain matters. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
