2008-05-05 2:45 PM A/P: Term Break Economics Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. During April 26, when the college graduation was held, the college secretary told our top ECE board passer and graduate that he will be most likely be having his teaching demo during the last week. Then she promptly went on a one week approved vacation leave. The applicant and I were trying to contact her last week but that's when she told us she was on vacation, and that we should try the director of the school of engineering or the secretary of the office of student affairs (her replacement during her leave) if there had been anything scheduled. Neither of the two, when we contacted them, could confirm anything. Which means that, during the college secretary's vacation, on matters for which there is no sense of urgency, the office of the acting dean just assumed them all moved back one week. Now, today, since I was in the Red Ginger Farm with said applicant, I said that I would check with the college secretary, who I know to be already returning to work, to find out when his teaching demo would be, since I had assumed the acting dean would be going to school today and that she would be asking the secretary to contact the applicant about when he could come in for his teaching demo already. But there was no such mobile phone communication, so I asked directly. Only to find out that the acting dean will be coming in on Thursday, so that's when the teaching demo is scheduled - three days from now. It gives more than enough time to prepare, just like he'd been preparing for most of last week, since applicants get to choose their own topics. Besides that, apparently I also have to be the one to inform both the applicant and the director of the school of engineering of the schedule, after the acting dean had confirmed her presence. Session 2145 shouldn't expect any sense of urgency when the students or the bosses aren't around to bug everyone. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
