A/P: The Floodgates Have Opened

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

The college secretary opened an email account for the college faculty to list down their suggestions so that they don't barrage the "other matters" portion of the faculty meeting with it just because they have the brother president's ear.

What's funny is that here, some of the faculty who are very quiet during the meeting suddenly spout several page downs worth of explanation.

Some people just can't get directly to the point to save their own life.

And this is for justification of a change of how special classes are supposed to be handled by the college. What's funny about it is that even though he admitted at the start that "teachers are supposed to make a sacrifice" making it sound like a bad or tiresome thing, he still puts forth his lack of compensation insight at the start, then dismisses it again with the "sacrifice" word. But he still put it out there.

Then there was a four-day school week suggestion, just because some students (particularly the irregular upperclassmen) have times when they only have one class a day, and that it's supposed to be "for their sake", since meetings and seminars as well as extra class preparation time can be scheduled on the fifth day, suggested as a Monday to coincide and lessen casualties due to the Philippine president's holiday economics. I'd be inclined to believe this as well if only students have to come in four times a week, but they would say teachers still must go five times a week.

There was also a rationalization on "saving electricity" in the facing of ever-mounting energy prices. Right, exploit that soapbox of the president.

Some office supplies already existing in other departments were suggested, such as a shredder and a three ring puncher (both of which I have portable units, so I'm not whining) to which the associate dean answered they have to justify a regular need because otherwise, it can still be borrowed from the custodians if needed.

Session 2233 wonders if the students I've heard bitching affected the teachers or was affected by these teachers. Class dismissed.
