A few more notes on slacker co-teacher’s comments on last Friday’s clandestine meeting.

There was also this point where he said that one of the faculty present might be a traitor, not agreeing to what everyone else was discussing and might tell the administration.

The director of the school of engineering cut him short on that, saying that just because one person does not share the majority’s sentiment does not automatically make him for the other side. People have the right to their own opinion.

He also said he got annoyed hearing about how much the new pergola cost (twelve million pesos, although that may be an exaggeration, since another source I had said it was five million) as if he, of the limited information has a better idea about where the money of the school should be going.

This morning he also told me to prepare for a storm during the meeting, completely forgetting that I was present, maybe because I really was silent.

And again he was quiet during the meeting, where, suspiciously, the brother president said he had a conflicting appointment and had to leave early because his secretary was absent last Thursday (very convenient, if you ask me).

But the faculty, our student leadership training facilitator, in fact, spoke up about the apprehensions of the faculty against an external consultant who would not be present everyday.

The brother president had a point in the perception being to the negative even before having met the consultant, asking that everyone have an open mind.

But he did have assurances (not really very believable since he already had an idea about what would be cause for alarm for the majority) that there will not be drastic changes, that the faculty manual is valid until renewed, and that the consultant would not be signing any documents (either in approval or policy).

And it was only afterwards, when the brother president had left (after passing the concerns about the SSS contributions and the health provider deductions to inviting the controller next meeting) that slacker co-teacher became noisy again.

The rest of the meeting devolved into all these complaints about different parts of the system.

Session 2329 just lets them speak. Class dismissed.
