Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. I find it outright funny when there are people who believe in their cause so much and let themselves be carried away by what they think they have to do that all logic goes flying out the window. Like someone who gets the bright idea of walking drastically and blusteringly out of a gathering to prove his point, only to come back in meekly moments later because he forgot something. The same is true with let's say, a person who has one parking violation at a local presinct. First of all, he calls his parents about the incident to talk to the police sergeant. The parents ask for a copy of the police report, then reply that they "are not convinced" that their child is guilty and should pay the fine. A meeting with the police captain is arranged, after which it turns out the parents believe that the violation has been dismissed, when in fact it has been treated as an appeal and that the arresting officer will have to make another report. But when the captain tells the parents about the new hearing, they say that they have "accelerated" the matter to the national police chief, so they don't need to go to the hearing. You'd think that would be the end of all communication, that such a gesture would mean they have nothing else to talk about, but instead the parents now say that since they gave their copies of the report to the police chief, could the presinct please give them copies again, that they're even willing to pay the less than five pesos it would take to photocopy? It just shows the rashness of their actions, letting their emotions rule them on something that could otherwise be resolved at a lower level (and should have been before being elevated or escalated, and of not thinking ahead rationally. Session 2431 likes this kind of fable telling. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
