2008-11-18 3:26 PM "I'll Just Talk to Them to Allow Me Past the Deadline; I'm Such a Charmer" Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Third post in a row about a certain student, because he's been in my sights that long. Yesterday was the last day of my academic advising - technically, because that was all that was scheduled. But I am allowing other students to advise today, except for him. Yesterday afternoon, he approached me trying to convince me why he didn't need academic advising, including saying that he will have to change them anyway when it comes to adjustment period. Well, that's the kind of attitude we want the students to have: fatalistic! Assume you'll fail all of your subjects anyway! He didn't answer me directly why he didn't go for the academic advising on the schedule prescribed, which he admitted that he read about prior, and read the circular from the registrar's office as well, to which they sign having received. Instead he said that he believed the contents of the letters were just "suggestions" instead of being the enforced rules. Where the heck does he come up with these excuses? Not that I accept them. But I was reaching the limit of my patience so much so that I just told him to talk to the head of the registrar's about his problem, which he didn't do, since I called afterwards. Does he think that his mom can still gloss over his not following the rules by giving food to the registrar's personnel like he has been doing for the past two or more terms? Speaking of which, that's not what his mom did at the talent show. In fact, she wasn't present, not like when he was so proud of his styrofoam maze for robots that he had his mom and sis take pictures of him beside it. Maybe his mom had already warned him to stop his delusion that the girl will like him if he performed? Session 2451 am content with all this intention speculation like watching a train wreck. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
