2009-03-25 4:03 PM Wanting to Extend Positions In Season Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. So today has been another day when I had to cater to the demands of other people at the same time that I have my day to day (read: classes) concerns. It was very tempting to just send out a blanket schedule of mine and tell everybody that at this time I'd be at this room and at this time I'd be attempting to have lunch just so they don't always compare where they are with where they think I am. @@ Right now I also have to deal with at least one student organization (already mentioned in today's student accessible version) who says that they have the same set of officers for this year as last year - AFTER an election. That means that the current officers, particularly the president, did not put herself out of the running because she is an incoming fourth year student who will be having her practicum next school year, which means being out of the campus five days out of the week, therefore she can't effectively handle activities. And this is from an organization who on its first year of existence it had three presidents (as I think I've mentioned here before) on of which became sole head for the second year, while another ex-president went on to head a volunteer group. Due to a loophole in the rules, he became the president of the umbrella organization, and after his term, he wanted to be the president again for some reason, sneakily getting the signatures of the other incoming presidents to support him. There were two points against him there: first, he was an incoming fourth year student at the time and therefore would be having his practicum as well, and second, that he was going against the rules already set by previous generations just to further his own ambition and resume-padding with titles. @@ On another front, slacker co-teacher now in big doo-doo (am surprised the word processor's spell checker accepted that last word) for not doing his job. It's that lone student who is taking up computer systems organization without switching theory. Last term I accommodated the experiments for the students, but he has not. He could just as easily have assigned her the early simple experiments by herself, but he didn't, maybe because of the extra effort of checking it entails. Session 2609 really is just minimum amount of work driven. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
