The Campus is Theirs as Much as Ours

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

One big piece of news that I forgot to mention before: the brother president gave me an I Pod Shuffle!

Well, technically of course it's for the office of student affairs, just like the mission office has one for their retreat songs, this one is for the songs we have in our leadership camp and... and... whatever other regular activities we could come up with where we will have standard music.

What baffles me whether it's personal or if it's for office use is that he also gave me earphones.

I would have thought if this is for office use it wouldn't come with that, and instead would come with the adaptor for external plugging into large and small sound systems.

@@ Minor ranting about the secretary again: it's past 9am, and only now does she send me a text message about a meeting regarding the cafeteria at 10am, but doesn't say where.

@@ Remember the co-teacher I mentioned before who gave the procedures for the new student discipline but declined the job come crunch time? Well, apparently he's still in correspondence with the dean for the position, but now he wants it to be for the welfare of the students instead of their discipline. This means though that he also wants to be in charge of the grades of the students and to find out if they are performing adequately or not. I'm not sure how this does not step on the toes of the guidance office.

@@ I'd also like to go back to the topic of the third applicant for teaching this term who is also a graduate.

I don't understand why he was only offered two units (a lab subject) to teach, when the second graduate (albeit the only one of the three to pass the board exam) was given ten units.

And to think that he's also the one who has to travel the furthest. It may have been considered in just offering him to go to school once a week, but of course it wasn't enough.

His travel expenses would still have been more than what he would have been paid.

The guy with ten units, by the way, out of the three, is also the one who lives nearest the campus.

@@ I just realized that "disciplinarian" is a synonym for "teacher". How much longer before that relationship becomes out of date, I wonder. What's ironic for me is that is part of the description that my mother wrote for me in my high school year book, and it wasn't edited out. Talk about prophetic, huh - whichever adjective fits.

@@ Now I have more things to write about than there is space for the day. Hope I remember for tomorrow.

Session 2679 wants to earn the pay. Class dismissed.
