Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Thank goodness for backward compatibility, when they bother enough to put it in software. There are changes in programs that one has been using on the computer that are welcome, that either make the job easier or take away the automatic functions that have to be reversed every time. But if the change is major, then productivity slows down while one is on the learning curve again. At the same time, the frustration builds up during this period before familiarity sets in. @@ It's like all these comparisons to another school in the district. There's good and bad in it. I was thinking whether this topic will be placed in the student accessible version or not. I guess for now here is a good enough venue as ever. Besides, I don't think the students will relate to it. Going back, there are advantages to a system that has been around for almost a hundred years. If there are any bad points to it, it's that sometimes there are people entrenched in their position for decades that they develop a certain attitude that does not help. So going to another campus that is not as developed, there are those who see the great potential of remaking this campus as great as that other one, without the speed bumps. Now if it was only possible for there to be people doing their jobs the way they want in complete isolation from the others, so that the only interaction would be through communications and no "finger in every pie" kind of criticism of the work, then maybe it would be more efficient. @@ Speaking of F. I. E. P. that used to be something that I used as a derogatory description of someone, who, in all honesty, really did butt in on every aspect of an organization. Now, karma dictates that I be called the same thing, and to my face. First reaction, I know it's not true. I was delegated to those two committees by someone higher and never thought to decline. There was at least one committee I did decline, although to be transparent, that was because I didn't want to be interacting with all-ego and no-work heads of the institute for the environment. After all, I am aware that whatever I notice in others, I don't want to be told about me. Session 2687 has work to do on Saturday, entertaining a guest (meal etc.) who wants to design for the school. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
