Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. I had another meeting with the dean today. It was about how I'm going to be evaluated for student affairs. She is asking for monthly reports for one thing, or three times a term (and maybe one in the summer). I was able to tell her that meetings not just with the guidance counselor and the head of the mission office (as well as the officer for the welfare of the students) have been scheduled, but also with the second brother in campus. I now have the go signal to be more obtrusive with the students in the implementation of their activities. Also the dean has already given implicit consent that the faculty should be more active in the preparation of their school weeks, and that I should be informed if not present during their meetings, and not just as a signatory. @@ It's also very heartening that the dean asked me if there were any seminars I would like to attend to be able to perform my job better. I told her that since the human resources head that we have right now was formerly a dean of student affairs herself, that if there's anything that I'm not clear about, I just consult her at any time. @@ What's also interesting about this is that at the same time (tomorrow morning, in fact) the brother president is also asking for a meeting to discuss concretizing the steps for efficiency in the second term operations. And that's also on the academic side, with the principal and the dean in attendance, not just student affairs. @@ The student council has also paid back one fourth of their debt from the printing of the shirts. Not bad if this becomes regular that they get to pay it all off in four months. At least it's better than the previous council who, due to their predilection for predicaments in borrowing money from other students to fund their culmination awards, still has several dozens of shirts left unsold. Imagine getting cash return of twenty thousand plus pesos from just a month of selling shirts that had a price of two and a half times that. And at least they aren't hesitant to pay off their debt (by this I mean giving the money on the same day that it was asked). @@ Another thing that the dean was able to tell me was that the troubles with the egotistic president of the parents of college students' organization from last school year are far from over. The school's attorney is saying that it would be better if they were not dissolved. And the president doesn't want to talk to anyone but the brother president, of course blaming the dean again for all of the problems with the dissemination of their general assembly invitation they didn't give in the first place to the person who was an expert at it, for biases related to his pride. So it won't get moving until he talks to the president directly. But it doesn't mean what he wants will be followed. Session 2775 is concentrated on non academic work now. Class dismissed.
