Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. Yesterday I found out another clever trick with which to circumvent the faculty attendance: show a document that says that it is a special class. Since there are some classes that have less than ten students but are still considered regular (if the students taking them are still regular), the faculty attendance checker cannot assume that any class with only a handful of students is not a regular class. But during my lab class yesterday, the checker asked if my class was regular or special. Thankfully I had the little piece of paper from the college administrative assistant (little because it only listed two classes; it informs the teachers of their load) that said it was a special class. Apparently she was told that for a special class, it is not required that the class will meet regularly. It seems contrary to the fact that the dean's office still assigns a room and a time to the class though. This is especially if that room happens to be diametrically opposite the main building from the engineering faculty, even though I was told (maybe retroactive reasoning) that the room was picked because it was closer to the student center. It would be perfect for me tomorrow because I have to leave early anyway to go to the spa, celebrating one year of existence. @@ I thought I was not going to be able to make it to the first meeting of our batch in high school, which has to prepare for the homecoming next year, which we are organizing. It was to be held tonight. I do not know why it was canceled, but it was. It could have had something to do with our resident attorney batch mate saying he would not be able to make it, but that cannot be the only reason. At the same time I have personally tasked myself with looking for three of our batch who was not present. One is a good friend who was the only one I visited in the school of blue in college and even after. His uncle is a teacher and a theater director there, so that is my point of contact. As far as I have heard he is now in a province up north where the US bases used to be; hope he can attend. Two are living in the same town as me, and they are cousins. In fact, one of them I saw on the jeep a day or so after I went to the funeral of our adviser. I might have seen him at least once before that in a mall nearby. I told him about the social networks that we are all part of, but for once I was able to see someone my age say that he was not into all of these interconnectivity things, although I did not get his mobile number. He was the one who told me that in fact one of my students is the nephew of his cousin (confused yet?). And that is how I hope to be able to contact them. There is barely eleven months to go. @@ Things will be coming to a head pretty soon regarding a long contended activity the students want to put up. I will post them when they happen, and the reaction of the students, but for now, it is tense. @@ The general cleaning of the engineering faculty room recently: not so bad. Session 2931 sees brightness outside, wants it inside. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
