This was my first ever trip to a Fry's. Wow. I mean, where else in the world can you buy a coffee maker, six different sizes of Leatherman supertool, a super-size pack of glow in the dark plastic stars, a disco ball, a Stevie Ray Vaughan CD, the complete run of the original Star Trek series on DVD, and a complete set of Pyrex lab beakers? That's one-stop shopping! In point of fact, the only one of the above that I purchased was Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas Flood. But I was sorely tempted by most of the rest of the list. For Daniel's parents, we purchased a NetGear wireless router and associated doodads (that's a technical term, folks). We've got the router working. I'm hooked up to the Internet through it now, although I'm using plain old boring wired Ethernet, because I haven't purchased a wireless card for my laptop yet. I'm strongly considering it -- there are enough coffee shops in Berkeley offering wireless internet to make it a useful gizmo to have. Right now, I think maybe I'll just go rip my new CD into iTunes.
