Spent much of yesterday feeling grumpy for no good reason. Even the accomplishment of getting 2 fiction submissions off in the mail didn't lift my mood that much. And one of them is even a shiny new virgin story that has yet to be deflowered by editorial rejection.

And so I sent it to Gardner. What a first time for a tender young story!

Okay, for some reason, imagining my freshly revised 5000-word wonder as a young debutante about to be debauched by an editor cheers me up. Clearly I have a sick mind.

It's sunny outside, and the birds are singing. I'm going to go out someplace and sit in the sun and have a large cup of coffee. Take that, grumpy mood!
